JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Residents of a Westside apartment complex spoke out to demand urgent action from management after they said trash has been piling up for months.
Susan Adams moved to the West Creek Apartments on 103rd Street, just west of Ricker Road, a couple of weeks ago from West Palm Beach.
She said she quickly learned from other residents that the trash wasn’t being picked up.
“My biggest fear is that it’s going to go into the road and I’m not going to be able to get out of here,” Adams said.
Adams said she is also concerned for her health.
“It’s depressing, and it makes you feel like nobody gives a crap about you really,” Adams said.

Other residents, who didn’t want to be identified, said this has been an ongoing issue.
“That trash has been piling up for the last couple months. My husband went down to find out what was going on, and they said, ‘Oh, it’s a dispute between the city,’” a woman told News4JAX.
Residents in this complex said the only time some of the trash is picked up is when it starts to flow into the streets.
“It started piling up with the last hurricane, and it blew all around, all over, and us tenants cleaned it up. Nobody even came to pick up sticks or any of the damage. They never even came to assess damage, if any. And so we cleaned up,” the woman said.
News4JAX reached out to the property owner and at the time of this publication, we hadn’t heard back.
