JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The 2024 Duval County tax notices will be mailed out Thursday, and property owners can expect their bills in their mailbox within the coming days, according to Duval County Tax Collector Jim Overton.
Officials said in-person payments to the nine tax collector branches in the county are expected to be crowded following property owners receiving their tax bills.

While long wait times are not ideal, there are other ways to avoid the lines this tax season.
“Online payments are the quickest, easiest and most efficient way for customers to pay their tax bills,” Overton said.
This year’s tax bills are already open on the website www.duvaltc.com and they are accepting payments now.
“Customers who have a need to pay in person are asked to use the Join the Line feature on www.duvaltc.com which allows them to add themselves to a virtual online queue prior to arriving at the branch to reserve their place in line. Once the customer is in the queue, they will receive text message updates regarding their place in line and will be notified when they should arrive at the branch for service,” said Overton.
For those paying online or in-person, credit card payments will impose an additional fee of 2.5 percent or $2.50 minimum to the credit card company.
If planning to pay via check, customers should note their 10-digit account number on their check. Do not staple or paperclip the check to the payment stub as this will prevent the payment processing properly and delay your receipt. Checks should be made payable to Duval County Tax Collector and mailed to PO Box 44009, Jacksonville, FL 32231-4009.
It is important to note that property owners who pay by Nov. 30 will receive a 4 percent discount. A 3 percent discount if paid by Dec. 31, 2 percent if paid by Jan. 31 and a 1 percent discount if paid by Feb. 28. The final deadline to pay your 2024 tax bill is March 31.
Property owners who do not receive a bill should visit www.duvaltc.com and select “Property Taxes” to find and pay their bill online, or email taxcollector@coj.net to find out the amount owed. If you do not receive a tax bill, you are still liable for the charges due by March 31.
If you need to change your mailing address, it’s encouraged to download and submit a change of address form from the Property Appraiser’s Office at www.coj.net/pa, or email PACustServ@coj.net.
