JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Native American Heritage Month, celebrated in November, amplifies Indigenous voices and celebrates the rich diversity of backgrounds, experiences, achievements, and interests within the Native American community.
In honor of Native American Heritage Month, celebrations are being held throughout Northeast Florida. We have listed the events below.

Fort Mose First Harvest - Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Stop by Fort Mose on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, to experience the Fort Mose First Harvest presented by the Fort Mose Historical Society. The event celebrates the first harvest of Fort Mose, founded in March of 1738.
During the Summer and early Fall of that year, new homesteaders were busy building their homes and the fort. They were also busy planting their first crops and tending to their livestock. Governor Montiano provided food rations from the government’s stores until they could harvest their first crops.
Participants will learn about the Spanish, African, and Native American food traditions and cultural influences.

2nd Annual Native American Arts Festival - Nov. 9 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
MOSH’s 2nd Annual Native American Arts Festival will be an immersive, educational experience of Indigenous art and culture, featuring food, dance, and more! The Native American Arts Festival is presented in partnership with Larry Yazzie and Native Pride Productions.
The Native American Arts Festival is a core event in the MOSH Passport Series.
