JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – According to election officials, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was sent to the Beaver Street Enterprise Center in Northwest Jacksonville Tuesday afternoon after receiving reports of a “suspicious package” at the polling site.

JSO told a News4JAX team member at the scene that the suspicious package was found in the area of the polling site, but not inside.

Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland told News4JAX that voters were brought outside for 15 to 20 minutes as the investigation unfolded.

Holland added that voters would still be able to vote outside the location if necessary because “the [site’s] equipment is on battery power.”

All operations at the polling site have since resumed normal operations.
