JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – JASMYN hosted its 18th annual ‘Coming Out’ Day Breakfast to celebrate diversity in Northeast Florida’s workforce and support for LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults on Thursday.
Blake Osner is the JASMYN board chair and he talked about the purpose of the breakfast.
“This is an opportunity for our corporate sponsors and entire community to come together and really support Jasmine as we focus on the LGBTQIA youth of Northeast Florida. Our purpose here is to serve those youth, make sure that they have a safe space and a space that they can come to and get the services that they need,” Osner said.
He said JASMYN helps people feel supported with counseling, HIV testing, secure housing, school bullying, and other challenges with their families or their neighborhoods.
“We’re just happy to be here and be a positive influence on the community,” Osner said.
