This experience presents over 1,000 intricately crafted lanterns that celebrate the beauty of wildlife and diverse cultures from around the world. Each display tells a unique story highlighting the interconnectedness of nature, creativity, and conservation.

“We’re proud to bring back Colors of the Wild, a truly special event that blends art, nature and storytelling,” said Nikki Jackson Smith, Chief Philanthropy and Marketing Officer. “These lanterns are not just displays—they are a testament to our commitment to connecting the community to wildlife and the world’s diverse cultures. We can’t wait to share this magical experience with everyone.”

Guests will encounter unique lantern installations that showcase fauna and flora, scenic pathways, traditional Chinese myths, and much more. Plus on select nights from Dec. 4-24, there will be visits from Santa Claus and other holiday traditions.

This nighttime event starts after the Zoo closes at 5:30 p.m. and ends at 9:30 p.m.

Tickets start at $22 for Zoo Members and $27 for non-members.

Combination tickets start at $37, which includes same-day access to the Zoo starting at 3 p.m. Zoo Members will receive a sneak peek on Nov. 22 before the event opens to the public.
