JSO: Tulsa Welding School students get into argument that leads to gunfire; 1 man shot

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Tulsa Welding School student was shot Tuesday after an argument led to gunfire in the parking lot, police said.

The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Southside Boulevard.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a group of 10 to 12 students started arguing and guns were pulled out.

JSO did not say what caused the argument, but multiple shots were fired, leading to the man in his 20s being shot once in the stomach.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooter, who is also a student, left the area after the shooting.

JSO said another person was detained as well. The sheriff’s office said this is an isolated incident and that there’s no threat to the community.
