Man accused of committing burglary, grand theft before getting tackled on football field at EWU homecoming game: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 44-year-old man has gone viral after running onto the football field during Edward Waters University’s homecoming game on Saturday.

It appeared as if it were a mistake or a prank at first as Daniel Kozlowski began jogging slowly onto the field and then started waving to the crowd.

However, it wasn’t a mistake.

Daniel Kozlowski was escorted off the field at an Edward Waters University football game (WJXT)

The video shows campus security tackle Kozlowski to the ground, as the crowd looks on and grunts when Kozlowski falls.

The News4JAX Sports Team captured video of Kozlowski being hauled away in handcuffs. At one point, he is seen trying to break away from their grip.

The game was paused briefly but then continued.

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office records show this wasn’t the only crime Kozlowski allegedly committed on November 9.

He also is accused of grand theft, burglary and trespassing at a local airport, in addition to battery on a first responder and disorderly conduct.

Kozlowski is in the Duval County jail.
