JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – President-elect Donald Trump has endorsed Randy Fine as a candidate for Florida’s 6th Congressional District. The endorsement comes after Rep. Mike Waltz announced his decision to step down from the seat, having been selected by Trump as his National Security Advisor.

Trump expressed his support on Truth Social, praising Fine as a “Harvard-educated, successful businessman and highly respected state legislator.” He highlighted Fine’s alignment with the MAGA movement and his ability to address critical priorities such as inflation, border security, veteran support, and energy independence.

“I am hearing that America First Patriot Randy Fine is considering launching his Campaign for Congress in Florida’s 6th Congressional District,” Trump wrote. “In Congress, Randy will be an INCREDIBLE Fighter who will work tirelessly with me.”

Fine, who recently lost his mother, shared his gratitude for the endorsement, tying it to his mother’s memory. “Clearly Mom wasted no time once she made it upstairs,” he said.

He described the opportunity to support Trump as a profound honor, saying, “It would be the honor of my life to be one of your foot soldiers. Your confidence is overwhelming, and I will have news to share soon.”

Fine has been a vocal supporter of Trump, endorsing him earlier this year while many Florida lawmakers backed Gov. Ron DeSantis. This alliance, combined with Trump’s support, positions Fine strongly for the Republican primary which is expected to determine the race’s outcome in the Republican-heavy district.

Other potential candidates include Randall Terry, Anthony Sabatini, Don Browning, and Rory Diamond. Congressional District 6 leans heavily Republican, with nearly 46% of registered voters identifying as Republicans compared to 27% as Democrats.

Historically, the district has strongly supported GOP candidates, with Waltz securing 66% of the vote in 2024 and 75% in 2022.

Fine’s record as a state senator also shows strong voter support, having earned 60% in the general election and 73% in the primary.

In a social media post encouraging Fine to run, Florida House of Representative member Dean Black described him as a “ferocious fighter for conservative values.”

Fine’s official decision is expected soon. He posted on social media that he will appear on Fox and Friends at 7:20 a.m. Monday.
