Deck the Chairs illuminates Jacksonville Beach until Jan. 1, 2025

The event will showcase art and creativity from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. until January 1, 2025

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – The beloved North Florida holiday tradition Jax Beach Deck The Chairs (JBDTC) celebrates 12 seasons promoting children’s arts and arts education.

Deck the Chairs in Jacksonville Beach is back and was fully lit for the public on Wednesday, Nov. 27 for opening night at the Seawalk Pavilion. The night began with a performance by the Brass Addiction Band and the official kickoff of Best Chair Voting.

What started as a way to “fill the void” during Jacksonville Beach’s winter holiday season has now grown into an event that averages more than 100,000 annual visitors.

The free, six-week holiday event features more than 70 lifeguard chair exhibits decorated by the community and more than 40 children’s stage programs. Its purpose is to promote children’s arts and arts education.

Deck the Lights begins Wednesday night in Jacksonville Beach (WJXT)

“The Seawalk Pavilion stage will be busy throughout the holidays,” says Kurtis Loftus, Deck The Chairs Executive Director. “DTC initiated early outreach across the First Coast inviting children’s visual and performing arts groups to take advantage of the JBDTC arts event. We anticipate showcasing more than 1,500 young performers on our stage this season.”

  • Let Young Hearts Shine Student Exhibit
  • Chair Decorating Voting Begins
  • Sponsor recognition

The exhibit will light nightly from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and will run until Jan. 1, 2025.
