JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation will host two public hearings to get feedback on a project to widen Interstate 95 near downtown.
This project will take place from I-95 near Kings Road to I-10 near Forest Street.
It will fix the deck of the Myrtle Avenue Bridge and add up to two lanes in each direction on I-95.
The Myrtle Avenue Overpass bridge is a historic landmark, built almost 70 years ago, in 1955. It’s the only remaining steel-tied arch bridge in the state.
There are two opportunities to attend a public meeting, ask questions, and share thoughts on the project.
The first meeting is virtual and begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Public comment is expected to start at 6 p.m.
People will also have a chance to attend an in-person meeting Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the FDOT Urban Office Training Center on Evidence.
