2 men targeted in drive-by shooting on West 16th Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two men were injured Thursday afternoon in what police say was a targeted drive-by shooting on West 16th Street near Myrtle Avenue.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, police were called to the area around 4 p.m. and found the two men with gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital and were in stable condition, police said.

Investigators said the victims were standing near their car when someone in a red car approached and fired multiple gunshots.

One man was hit in the leg, while the other suffered injuries to his back, arm, and leg.

Detectives believe it was a targeted attack. After the shooting, the shooter sped away from the scene, and investigators are working to find out where they went.

Law enforcement searched the area for surveillance video and spoke with witnesses.
