Clay County escape room owner, 63, accused of having child sex abuse materials in his home, business

Owner of Clay County escape room arrested Friday after deputies find child sexual abuse materials at his home, business (WJXT)

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A months-long investigation into a 63-year-old owner of a Clay County escape room led to his arrest.

On Friday, deputies said they found “numerous” electronic devices at John Nicholls' Fleming Island home and his Locked In Escape Room business in Middleburg.

The investigation was launched after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office received concerning tips about child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Nicholls was arrested on 10 counts of possession of CSAM.

The CCSO also partnered with the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force for the investigation.
