JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested two teens in the double murder of two 16-year-olds in June 2024.
Joseph Mixson, 17, and Andrew Robinson, 19, were charged with second-degree murder.
Police said on June 9 at around 4:30 a.m., they responded to reports of a shooting at the Island Pointe Apartments on Island Point Drive. When they arrived, they found Travaris J. Odol and Stanley K. Merriweather suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Both died at the scene.
“It’s usually quiet. Nothing like this ever happens,” said a resident, who wished to remain anonymous.
