Man injured when gunfire erupts in Grand Park neighborhood: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Rounds of gunfire erupted Tuesday in the Grand Park neighborhood.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to the intersection of West 23rd and Mecca streets after ShotSpotter alerted them to the gunfire.

Officers found multiple shell casings in the road and were told shortly after that a man had arrived at an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

The man, who is in his late 20s, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Investigators said they learned a group of individuals were hanging out at the intersection of West 23rd and Mecca streets when gunfire erupted, and the man was shot multiple times.
