“Thank you for allowing us to serve the Atlantic Beach community for the last 30+ years,” the sign says.

“Many people spent their 20s, 30s, and even up to their 60s in this same location and it’s been a wonderful part of the neighborhood. It was almost like a resource rather than a restaurant,” Resident Lee Lanier said.

Ragtime’s Facebook page also listed the establishment as “permanently closed.”

The reasons for the closure have not been disclosed.

The sudden closure came as a shock to the community.

“Oh my God. Ragtime is closed, but hopefully something nice will come in its place” Neptune Beach resident Jim Anderson said.

Ragtime is one of many businesses that have recently announced permanent closures in Duval County.

On Saturday, CamiCakes, a beloved cupcake bakery in Jacksonville, officially closed its doors after 19 years of serving sweet treats to the community.
