Mother wanted on child neglect charge turns herself in after Putnam County deputy helped save unresponsive 1-year-old

Putnam County searching for couple accused of child neglect (WJXT)

SATSUMA, Fla. – A mother wanted on a child neglect charge after the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office helped bring her unresponsive 1-year-old son back to life turned herself into authorities on Wednesday, according to deputies.

Deputies were searching for the 1-year-old’s mother Ti’Tashua Thomas, 27, and her boyfriend Bruce Harris, 33.

According to the PCSO, deputies responded to a call about an unresponsive 1-year-old on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Doctors determined the child may have swallowed one of Harris' prescription Oxycodone pills. Deputies also searched the couple’s Satsuma home and found drugs and guns.

Investigators said four additional children were living in the home as well.

Thomas was released the same day on a $100,000 bond. She was also ordered not to have contact with her five children.

The toddler is expected to recover, but it’s unclear who is caring for the children.

Deputies are still looking for Harris, who faces a child neglect charge and other additional drug and firearm charges.
