‘Going to be great’: Fans eager for Jaguars new era under Coach Liam Coen

They attended the new coach’s ‘First Duuuval’ meet & greet

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hundreds of eager Jaguar fans packed EverBank Stadium to meet the team’s new coach Liam Coen.

The air was filled with plenty of excitement from hopeful and dedicated fans ready to meet the man in charge of leading the team to greatness.

Fans learned more about everything from Coen’s goals for the team to why he chose to come to Jacksonville for the coaching job.

“You look at the opportunity to coach Trevor Lawrence first and foremost, that’s where this thing starts and then you look on the defensive side with Josh Hines Allen, another A+ quality person and that’s what this is all about having two guys on both sides of the ball,” Coen said. “Then we have a lot of other players as you all know. But when you have leaders and good people that start this thing off that’s what this is all about.”

Danika Mitchell said she’s been down with the team since the beginning.

“I wanted to hear what he has to say in person. I’ve caught snippets of everything throughout the week. Also, it’s still the same mingling with other fans that I usually see at the tailgate in games, and it’s still the atmosphere,” Mitchell said.

There were even family members of Jaguars legend Tony Boselli in the audience.

Elizabeth Boselli was excited for Coen’s new leadership.

“I think having somebody new, young and fresh and who truly cares about connecting with the players in the community is going to be great for us,” Boselli said.

This new ear for the Jaguars has renewed fans' hope for a more successful season.

“We’re just excited to see what they build. And if [the Super Bowl] is in the cards, that’s incredible. Like they said, I think we’ve got the players for it, and it’s just a matter of getting in the kitchen and whipping something up,” Bosellis said.
