Then, around 3:15 p.m., Jacksonville Fire Rescue said it was working another crash on I-295 South at the off-ramp of 103rd Street. That crash has been deemed fatal.

Around 6 p.m., FHP said the crash involved a 24-year-old Jacksonville man who had a 1-year-old in his vehicle.

Just before 3 p.m., the 24-year-old was traveling south on the I-295 exit ramp to 103rd Street. A second vehicle, described as a “truck tractor” was stopped in traffic on the exit ramp directly in front of the first vehicle.

“The [24-year-old] failed to observe stopped traffic and the front of the vehicle collided with the rear of the second person’s trailer,” FHP said.

When both vehicles finally came to a rest, they both blocked in the inside exit ramp lane to 103rd Street.
