JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – House and Senate panels are expected to take up two bills on Tuesday that would change references in state laws from the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

A Senate committee will also take up a separate bill that would require state agencies and schools to update materials to reflect the change.
