Police believe multiple guns were involved. No shooter or person of interest was detained related to the incident, JSO said.

News4JAX spoke to a relative of the man who was taken to the hospital.

She said her family has endured too much gun violence and stressed how it needs to stop.

“Somebody got to take control of this gun violence here in Jacksonville,” the woman said. “Something’s got to happen. Sheriff, I’m asking and begging for you to step up your folks, and let’s take care of this. It’s too much violence. An innocent man got killed today. That’s a shame.”

The investigation is ongoing.
