25-year-old from Orlando dies in I-95 crash in St. Johns County

Emergency crews were on the scene of a deadly crash on I-95 southbound, south of State Road 206 on Friday morning.

As of 2:30 p.m., all lanes of I-95 southbound were back open.

According to a preliminary report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 25-year-old man from Orlando was killed in the crash that happened just after 11 a.m. Friday.

Investigators say his Nissan Altima went off the roadway and collided with a charter bus that had been abandoned on the right shoulder of I-95 due to mechanical issues.

No one was on the bus at the time of the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating.
