One student News4JAX spoke with was the first to put some flowers down. He said he felt compelled to lead the charge because at the time, no one else had done anything.

“I brought the bouquet because I haven’t seen anyone organizing to show solidarity,” he said. “So we can show that we are there in solidarity.”

The FSU College Democrats organization will host a vigil on Saturday.

FSU will also host a vigil at 5 p.m. on Friday at the Langford Green in front of the Unconquered Statue.

Students who need assistance could go to the Donna L. Tucker Center, where the university provides counseling, health care and other support services. Family members are also able to go to the Tucker Center for assistance.
