JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Aviation Authority has launched online resources for travelers affected by the closure of the Hourly Garage.

Travelers with vehicles currently parked in the garage can sign up for updates at www.flyjacksonville.com/jaxfire by providing their contact information and license plate number.
No pedestrians or vehicles are allowed to enter or exit the Hourly Garage. There is no timeline for when the facility will reopen.
Passengers with cars in the Daily Garage and Daily Surface Lot can exit these facilities, but no new vehicles are allowed to enter.
Operations are back open, but safety remains a concern due to the partial collapse of the Hourly Garage.
“Glad no one got hurt,” Lou Schwab said, who was visiting from Buffalo. “That’s the good thing about it. Glad the airport is still open so we can get out.”

Investigators could be seen entering the building to assess the integrity. An airport spokesperson said it’s going to be a while until anyone is able to get inside to retrieve anything.
Due to extremely limited on-site parking, airport officials recommend using off-airport lots along Airport Road, rideshare services like Uber or Lyft, taxis, or arranging drop-offs and pick-ups at the terminal.
One family said they adjusted plans to take an Uber after the garage where they would typically park in is now closed.
“We were parked in this lot a week ago. We had a lot of in and out the last couple of weeks, and I was just saying, can you imagine if this was a week ago, we could have been in there. It’s crazy to think about,” Tom and Susan Harvey said, who were traveling out of JAX.
There were 62 total cancellations in and out of Jacksonville as the airport reopened around 5 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday, there are just 11 total cancellations: 9 departures and two arrivals.
