Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine reopens after tidal flooding recedes

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine reopened Friday afternoon after a brief closure due to tidal flooding.

St. Johns County Emergency management made the announcement to close the bridge around 11:25 a.m.

It reopened around 2 p.m.

🚨Road Closure🚨 King Street is now closed between Ponce and Malaga due to flooding.

St. Johns County Emergency Management said the tide station at St Augustine Municipal Marina was in moderate flood stage (reading 2.39′). Major flooding occurs at 2.9′.

High tide was around noon, so levels were expected to slowly decrease in the following hours.
