JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two people were found dead Wednesday night after officers responded to a reported battery on Crossview Drive, near San Pablo Parkway, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officers were called to a home on Crossview Drive in the Beach Haven area south of Beach Boulevard at 8:45 p.m.
When they arrived, they found the two people dead inside the home, but the circumstances of how they died are still being investigated.
We do not know who made the 911 call or who was involved.
JSO doesn’t believe there is anyone else connected to the incident and does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community.
Community members in the area say this is something that never happens here.
“I can’t quite believe it. Of course, everybody says that: ‘Not in my neighborhood.’ It seems a little strange,” local resident Marty Schaefer said.
Investigators will continue coordinating with the Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office.
