JSO says when officers got there, they met with a man who said he was worried after seeing his neighbors’ garage door open all day and all of the lights turned off in their home.
He said he knocked on the door and called his neighbors, but received no response.
Police say the man then called his neighbors’ daughter, who came to the home and let the officers inside to check on her parents.
The officers found her parents unresponsive inside the back of the house and called paramedics. But the couple had already died.
According to the sheriff’s office, this appears to be an isolated incident with no outstanding threat to the community, and homicide detectives will continue to investigate.
This is an active investigation.
