FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – The City of Fernandina Beach is ending its downtown paid parking program following the results of a special election held Aug. 18.
At its Aug. 19 meeting, the City Commission voted to terminate its agreement with parking management company One Parking as soon as contractually possible. Under the terms of that contract, the city issued a formal notice of termination, setting Nov. 18, 2026, as the final day of the paid parking program.

Until that date, paid parking will continue to operate as it currently does.
What this means for residents
Residents who have already made parking payments should be aware that, in accordance with city code, parking fees are non-refundable. The city said it will continue to share information about the transition as the Nov. 18 end date approaches.
City thanks One Parking for its partnership
Officials extended appreciation to One Parking for its cooperation throughout the program’s implementation and operation.
“We appreciate the professionalism and partnership One Parking has demonstrated throughout this process,” said City Manager Sarah Campbell. “While the program will be ending, we are grateful for their willingness to work with the City and honor the terms of our agreement as we move forward.”
The city also thanked residents for their participation in the special election and pledged to keep the community informed as the paid parking program winds down.
