JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Angela Corey officially announced her bid for a third term as state attorney Tuesday evening at the Jacksonville Landing.
Corey was re-elected without opposition, but her second term has been marked with controversy.

She will be facing her former employee Wesley White, who is now a private attorney. Who is representing Corey's former I.T. chief, who is suing her for wrongful termination.
"I think what's going to be different is we are very confident about our record," Corey said. "Not in certain incidental cases, but our overall record of protecting this community is stellar. I am awed by the number of family and friends that came. This was a very informal invite and I am just awed by this amount of support to kick off our campaign."
Corey said she plans on spending more time on trying to educate our community by helping people understand the criminal justice system and high-profile cases.
