JSO: Deaths of siblings being investigated as double murder

Adult brother, sister found dead inside Argyle Forest home, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.

Detectives are investigating the deaths of a brother and sister as a double murder, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Sharon Lamb, 55, and Michael Lamb, 52, were found dead Tuesday night inside their Argyle Forest home, police said.

Officers were called about 8 p.m. Tuesday to their home on Collins Ridge Boulevard near the intersection of Collins Road and Shindler Drive. Investigators said nothing in the home seemed to be out of place and all the cars were accounted for. Officers also reported there were no signs of forced entry to the home, but said foul play is suspected.

Police said they're looking for information about a red Ford Escort or green Ford Explorer, which are currently in the Sheriff's Office's possession, because they may have been used in the commission of the murders. Investigators said the vehicles may have been in the Collins Road area between Sunday and Tuesday.

According to a family friend, the Lambs were taking care of their mother, who also lives in the house.

A neighbor said the mother came home from the hospital Tuesday night and found her adult children dead. She called police and is now staying with family.

Heather Hagan, who has been friends with Sharon Lamb for about four years and had become close to the family, said when she saw the Lambs' house and cars on the news Wednesday morning, she dropped to her knees and drove there as soon as she could.

According to JSO records, officers had been to the home five times in the last few years. In 2016, officers responded to calls about a suicidal person, an assault with injuries and fraud. And this year, officers were called for a car burglary in June and a missing person in August.

Hagan said that she wasn’t aware of any domestic issues inside the home. She said they all seemed to get along fine and she couldn’t think of anyone who would want to hurt them.

She said both of the Lambs have children, and they have another sibling who doesn't live at the home.

“They are the only ones who live here besides their mother,” Hagan said. “The son would come and go. He was really close with his mom, so I know that he's probably going through it, and I wanted to reach out to him to make sure that he was OK, and I didn't get a response back.”

Hagan said she was just at the house visiting the family Saturday and that everyone seemed fine. She said it’s hard for her to wrap her head around how this could happen and she hopes police get to the bottom of it.

News4Jax also learned Sharon Lamb's son, Andrew Lamb, was arrested Wednesday morning on a charge of drug possession as he was being questioned about his mother and uncle's murders.

Investigators are working to determine what happened in the moments leading up to the deaths.

Friend of murder victim wants answers

Sharon Lamb's former coworker told News4Jax Wednesday night that she's shocked, saying she just spoke to her last week about a possible job.

Kelly, who News4Jax has chosen to only identify by her first name to protect her identity, said not being able to keep in touch and catch up with Sharon anymore is a tough loss.

For nearly a decade, Kelly said, she worked as a truck driver alongside Sharon.

“I just enjoyed working with her," Kelly said. "We always had a good time when we were working together because she was so funny.”

Though it's been years since they worked together, Kelly said, they always kept in touch.

But when Kelly heard Sharon and her brother, Michael Lamb, were both found dead inside their Argyle Forest home, she said she didn’t know what to think.

“All she was doing is taking care of her mom. And had a son and dog that she loved very much," Kelly said. "What could she have done to anybody to make them want to hurt her like that?”

Investigators have not yet identified any suspects. But Kelly said she hopes someone can find out the reason for the siblings’ deaths.

“I hope that they find them and I hope that they prosecute them to the full extent, get some answers, find out why," she said.
