Police search for shooter after man dies from gunshot wounds

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 25-year-old man was fatally shot last week on Jacksonville's Westside, the Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday.

Police said Gary Heath was found with multiple gunshots wounds about 3 p.m. Sept. 19 on Indian Lakes Drive, north of 103rd Street.

Heath was taken to a Jacksonville hospital, where he underwent surgery for life-threatening injuries, but he later died from his wounds.

Witnesses told police that the suspect shooter was a light-skinned black male with dreadlocks pulled back into a ponytail, wearing a black shirt and black gym shorts.
