Town Center Ikea taking shape

Fall opening likely

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It’s starting to look like an Ikea.

The blue paneled walls are up. The signature yellow trim is around the entrance. The parking lot is paved. Coming next on the exterior are solar panels on the roof that will provide as much as 50 percent of the building’s electricity.

Once contractors are done with the outside, Ikea moves in and starts transforming the inside and making it.-- Ikea!

The opening of the Town Center store on Gate Parkway just off of I-295 is greatly anticipated. Right now the closest Ikea is in Orlando.

The big unanswered questioned is when will it actually open for business. Ikea offers a fairly broad answer saying that it will happen sometime between fall and Christmas.  It seems a fall opening is most likely.

And, Ikea has already begun hiring. If you’re interested and looking for a job check out their website: seeacareerwithus.com.
