Path to the Polls: What went wrong with DeSantis’ presidential campaign?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – At one point, he appeared to be Donald Trump’s most daunting challenger — his campaign ran out of steam, support and money. Ron DeSantis ended his struggling bid before this week’s New Hampshire primary.

But that doesn’t necessarily mark the end of his presidential ambitions.

On the latest edition of Vote 2024: Path to the Polls, News4JAX Anchor Bruce Hamilton and News4JAX Political Reporter Scott Johnson looked at the missteps and miscalculations that caused Florida’s governor to abandon the presidential campaign trail. And Daniel Cronrath, a political science professor at Florida State College Jacksonville, weighs on the exit of the candidate who was once thought to be Donald Trump’s biggest nemesis.
