Jacksonville Humane Society invites community to massive free adoption weekend

Military families, veterans can have free adoptions Friday; free adoptions open to all families Saturday, Sunday at 2 locations

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Each year, more than 5 million pets enter animal shelters in need of loving homes.

The Jacksonville Humane Society is proud to partner with PetSmart Charities, Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS), and Brochu Law, PLLC to offer a three-day long free adoption event from Friday, Nov. 11 to Sunday, Nov. 13 to the community.

In recognition of Veterans Day, JHS has teamed up with Brochu Law, PLLC to offer free adoptions to military families and veterans on Friday, Nov. 11. JHS will be open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and encourages military families and veterans to stop by our shelter located at 8464 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville FL, 32216.

JHS has also partnered with PetSmart Charities and Animal Care and Protective Services to offer free adoptions for all families at two PetSmart locations in support of National Adoption Weekend, taking place Nov. 12-13.

JHS will have available pets at PetSmart located at 8801 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32256, and ACPS will have available pets at PetSmart located at 356 Monument Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225.

JHS and ACPS invite potential pet parents to meet available pets in their area. JHS and ACPS will have available pets in store on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and both shelter locations will be open.

“We see so many happy adoptions take place during these adoption events,” said Denise Deisler, CEO of the Jacksonville Humane Society, “We are so thankful for Brochu Law and PetSmart Charities’ support.”
