The Community Nutcracker of Jacksonville hosted a check presentation at the Florida Theatre, awarding a total of $50,000 in donations to Dreams Come True of Jacksonville and WeCareJax. Proceeds were from the Community Nutcracker's 2023 Nutcracker Ballet performance we took place in December. Dreams Come True received $40,000 and WeCareJax received $10,000. This year’s contributions were made in memory of the late Dr. George S. Trotter, one of the founders of the Community Nutcracker and WeCareJax. Community Nutcracker has donated over $850,000 to locally-based nonprofit organizations since 1992. Since 2005, they have supported Dreams Come True by sponsoring the dreams of nearly 90 children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
