More than 70 volunteers will participate in Northeast Florida alone, helping the North Riverside area and James Weldon Johnson Full Service School Site.

The projects include a community garden, street clean-up, landscaping, and more.

“United Way believes in the power of volunteerism to transform communities, raise awareness of critical issues in underserved neighborhoods, and provide critical support to local nonprofits and organizations,” an official statement from the organization says.

Sign-ups are still available at unitedwaynefl.org/dayofaction.

The event is from 8 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Friday in the Daily Manna Community Garden.
