JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – PulteGroup’s Northeast Florida Division has started building a mortgage-free home for U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Antwian Cooper in the Centex community of Wells Landing.
This marks the fourth home dedicated in the region through the company’s Built to Honor Program, which supports veterans and their families.

“It is truly a privilege for our team to build this home for Sergeant Cooper and thank him for his bravery and service to our country,” said Justin Cook, PulteGroup’s Northeast Florida Division President. “Wells Landing is the perfect place for the Cooper family to call home. We are honored to build a home for Antwian and his family that is fully accessible and will improve his quality of life.”
Cooper joined the U.S. Army with a desire to provide a better life for his family, serve his country, and honor those lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
During his 11 years of service, he completed five deployments -- three in Afghanistan and two in Iraq.
In October 2016, he was honorably and medically retired after enduring many challenging and life-altering experiences that have impacted his physical and mental health.
The project is a partnership with Building Homes for Heroes, a nonprofit that provides housing to injured service members.
