Keep your plants happy in the Florida heat

Lush Leaves joined the show today for Earth Day to discuss how to keep your indoor and outdoor plants happy and healthy during the summer heat. Here are some tips to keep your plans safe during those hot spring and summer days!

1. Don’t water in the sun

Don’t hose down your plants during the middle of the day during the summer heat. The water droplets turn up the heat on the leaves.

2. Set up some shade

There are many options on how to create shade for plants such as umbrellas or sheets. However, make sure that there is air flow.

3. Keep your indoor plants safe from bugs

The hotter plants means there are more bugs! Treat pests with neem oil and if a plant gets effected keep it separated from other plants.

4. Dust your plants

Dust gets on plants too. Make sure to keep out for dust on the plants as dust makes it more difficult for plants to absorb light and remain happy and healthy.
