Women Who Made a Difference

The Jacksonville Historical Society, operating under the name The Jacksonville History Center, will mark its centennial in 2029. This institution stands as the sole history center catering to all of Duval County, boasting a comprehensive array of services including a research library, archive, and image collections. Its overarching mission is to foster civic engagement and education among the residents of Jacksonville by delving into their historical roots. This is achieved through the preservation and dissemination of tangible evidence from the city’s past, coupled with advocacy for the importance of historic preservation.

The Jacksonville History Center is set to host its 2nd Annual History Fair on Wednesday, March 27, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The venue for this event will be Old St. Andrew’s Church, located at 317 A. Philip Randolph Blvd. Attendees can look forward to an impressive showcase featuring numerous history museums and organizations. The festivities will encompass live musical performances, culinary delights, merchandise stalls, raffles, and more. Tickets are available for purchase at jaxhistory.org or via Facebook.
