River City Plus: Q&A with River City Dancing with the Stars

The 10th annual River City Dancing with the Stars competition is scheduled for Saturday, April 13th, and all of the dancers are ready to leave it all of the ballroom floor... for a great cause!

RCDWTS is the largest fundraiser on the year for the the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus. Following the format of its television counterpart, the event pairs six esteemed local community leaders with professional ballroom dance instructors. Each “star” is poised to present a captivating two-minute ballroom routine on stage.

In a delightful twist, alongside the judges’ evaluations of their performances, these stars must also rally community support in the form of donations to the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus. Every dollar contributed translates to a vote, with all proceeds earmarked for vital initiatives such as need-based scholarships and ongoing programming for local children.

The coveted Mirror Ball Trophy awaits the dancer who achieves the highest combination of community votes and performance scores, promising an evening of spirited competition and philanthropic cheer.

The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus strives to ensure that finances are never a boundary for budding young artists who wan to learn, grow, and perform.
