River City Plus: Turtle Talk with Turtle Survival Alliance

Turtle Survival Alliance and its partners protect and restore wild populations of tortoises and freshwater turtles in 18 countries worldwide through science-based conservation, global leadership, and local stewardship. Their vision is a planet where turtles thrive in the wild and are respected and protected by all humans. In Florida, the Turtle Survival Alliance–North American Freshwater Turtle Research Group conducts long-term population monitoring in ten freshwater spring systems in the North and Central regions of the state, as well as one coastal brackish water estuary in the Jacksonville area. These efforts are driven by volunteer scientists and are open to participation by all community members.

Raise a glass to turtle conservation! Through the Drink Beer. Save Turtles.® initiative, Turtle Survival Alliance partners with brewers, taprooms, zookeeper associations, and other organizations to raise funds and awareness about the plight of tortoises and freshwater turtles. Together with Conservation Partners, they organize family-friendly events featuring specially brewed beers, original merchandise, and interactive experiences with live turtles and tortoises.

Drink Beer. Save Turtles.® will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Bold City Brewery, 2670 Rosselle St.
