Jimmy Parrish headlines Saturday’s Orange Park After Dark

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Orange Park is looking forward to another great year featuring local music artists and a variety of food trucks at its annual Orange Park After Dark event.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Town Hall Park and Jimmy Parrish and the Waves take the stage at 7 p.m.

The party rocks on until 10 p.m. and music lovers and food enthusiasts alike are invited to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the evening.

The event is cooler-friendly, ensuring everyone can stay refreshed.

Parrish, a native Floridian and long-time Jacksonville resident, has been performing both as a solo act and with his band for nearly 30 years.

After forming the Ocean Waves Band in 2000, his goal was to entertain audiences throughout the southeast with an island-style tropical vibe.

Armed with a combination of acoustic rock heavily influenced by the music of Jimmy Buffett, along with his love for the ocean and time spent in the islands, Parrish helped pave the way for what would be an up-and-coming musical genre now known as “Trop Rock.”

“Any time we can take some folks to the beach and on a vacation through a song, it works,” Parrish said.
