Meet Lady and Todd: 2 orphaned dogs hoping for happy ‘tails’ and a new home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Meet Lady and Todd, two pups who tragically lost their owner a few days ago and are in desperate need of a new home, ideally together.

The dogs were sadly in the home with their deceased owner for 5-7 days before being rescued, and are hoping for a new leash on life.

Both dogs are 6 years old, spayed/neutered, and up to date on all their vaccinations through February 2025. Their owner was a devoted dog dad, taking them everywhere, even to places like Publix and their favorite ice cream shop, Dreamette.

They were often seen in Avondale, heads out of the car window, wearing sunglasses. They miss him terribly.

A group of neighbors has taken on the responsibility of caring for these dogs. These wonderful individuals feed, walk, bathe, trim nails, and clean their ears. It’s a heartwarming community effort.

The dogs have received donations from businesses such as Bark on Park and MDMT Dog Training, as well as from people who have heard their story. Sit and Stay Jax has coordinated much of these efforts with dedication to the dogs’ wellbeing. Local businesses have also shared their posts and offered support.

If you want to arrange a meet and greet or connect with the neighbors hard at work helping Lady and Todd please email saveladyandtodd@gmail.com .

A special thank you to these local businesses and groups that have come together to help:
