47th annual Arts Awards honors artists, creators and innovators

The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville will celebrate individuals and organizations serving their community through arts and culture at the 47th annual Arts Awards on Oct. 4.

The eight award winners were nominated by the community and then selected by a committee.

Diana Donovan, executive director of the Cultural Council, said the innovation-centric event will make Jacksonville shine.

“Think of metallics and golds and sparkles,” Donovan said, adding that the event will highlight the creative minds behind innovations like autonomous vehicles.

You can get tickets and learn more about the event at the Florida Blue Conference Center at www.culturalcouncil.org.

The Cultural Council, which has been serving Duval County for more than 50 years, has served as the city’s official Local Arts Agency since 1971.

The council is the steward of the Cultural Service Grant (CSG) Program, which provides vital funding for arts and culture organizations through operational and capital Grants.
