JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The annual matchup between Paxon and Stanton was scoreless until the third quarter, when the Golden Eagles' Tyson Wright takes the hand off and goes 35 yards for the touchdown. Paxon takes a 7-0 lead.
Later in the third quarter, Alfred Adams takes it down to the 1 inch line and then on the next play he comes right at you for the score making it 14-7, giving Paxon fans something to cheer about.
Then in the fouth quarter, Robert Florence goes in untouched from 10 yards out for another TD and the Eagles went on to win 21-7.
Golden Eagles coach Steve Brown was pleased with the win.
"Great win for Paxon. It was a district win. Our players are happy. Our fans are happy. And I'm happy," Brown said.
This is the second year in a row Paxon has come out victorious in the annual matchup with Stanton that the students of Duval County's two academic magnet schools have nicknamed the "Brain Bowl."
