EverBank Field south end zone escalators closed for rest of season

Closed for construction of future amphitheater, covered flex field

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fans attending the Jacksonville Jaguars game Sunday will notice a few detours around the stadium as construction continues on Daily's Place.

The ground-level escalators in the south end zone will be closed for the remainder of the season due to the construction of the future amphitheater and covered flex field.

The city of Jacksonville and the Jaguars broke ground on Daily’s Place in mid-August. The fencing constructed around the future amphitheater and covered flex field will ensure fan safety throughout the season. The franchise said there will be alternative routes available and increased stadium signage to ensure fans find the easiest route to their seats.

The majority of fans needing access to the south end zone general bowl, the Bud Light Party Zone, the Terrace Suite and the Sky Patio should take the ramps located near gates 1 and 4. Elevators will be available in the south end zone for guests with medical needs. Guest services staff will be standing by to help point fans in the right direction.

Plenty of alternative routes are available and increased stadium signage will ensure fans find the easiest route to their seats.

Beat the heat with pregame preparation

Two Sundays ago, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue said they responded to 123 calls at the stadium, and more than 80 percent of those were heat-related, with 35 fans taken to the hospital.

To stay cool this Sunday, fans are encouraged to wear light-colored clothing and avoid layering. Fans should take steps to hydrate in the days leading up to the game. Attendees can get a complimentary cup for water at any guest services booth that can be filled at water fountains. If a fan does not feel well, they can notify the nearest guest services team member or text “ASSIST” followed by their location and issue to 58154*.

At EverBank Field, the Sea Best Cool Zones are open to all fans and feature air-conditioned cooling benches and misting fans. The main Cool Zone is located in the south end zone directly below the Bud Light Party Zone on the ground level.

Other locations include the north end zone near section 119 and the north end of the east and west upper deck concourses. The Jacksonville Transportation Authority will also have air conditioned buses placed on the plaza level near Gates 2 and 4 to offer fans a respite from the heat.

News4Jax meteorologist Mark Collins said it will be hot, but perhaps not as sweltering as the first game.

"A little bit more wind, a little bit more rain in the forecast, so that may offer some relief compared to last time," Collins said.
