JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Last Thursday a fan at EverBank Field was spotted in a custom made Jaguars No. 7 Colin Kaepernick jersey. At the time that thought off the controversial quarterback playing in Jacksonville may have been wishful thinking. A week later Jaguars owner Shad Khan gave his blessing if the team’s front office decides to pursue the free agent quarterback.
“Absolutely,” said Khan when asked by 1010XL radio host Mike Dempsey would he be “ok” with Kaepernick coming to Jacksonville, if the Jaguars decisions makers felt that was the best move for the team.

At the moment the battle for the Jaguars starting quarterback spot is a two man race between Chad Henne and Blake Bortles. Neither of those two have ever reached the playoffs and Kaepernick would be coming in having led a team to a Super Bowl.
At the end of the day the decision will come down to team executive VP of Football Operations Tom Coughlin.
