Four to watch

Bolles (2-3, 0-0) at Episcopal (4-0, 0-0), 5 p.m.*

Sure, the Bulldogs are mired in their worst slump in decades but these are the games that matter in District 2-2M. RB Emmett Grzebin (457 rushing yards, 4 TDs) has been a constant for the Bolles offense and WR Naeem Burroughs (252 receiving yards, 2 TDs) provides the big play ability. Injuries and inexperience have hurt Bolles on the offensive side of the ball. LB Trent Carter (45 tackles, 4 TFL), DB Kavon Miller (33 tackles) and LB Skyler Malone (32 tackles, 6 TFL) lead the Bolles defense. Episcopal gets a big jump up in competition and can muscle its way into the district conversation with a win QB Joseph Wiesner (693 passing yards, 11 TDs) has some big help on offense, with RB Christian Davis (415 rushing yards, 3 TDs) and WRs Corey Scott (329 receiving yards, 5 TDs) and William Monroe (176 receiving yards, 4 TDs).

Parker (1-4) at Fletcher (3-2), 6 p.m.*

The Senators have won back-to-back games after an OT loss to Jackson and have developed a nice offense with Marcelis Tate (6 passing TDs, 952 yards, 211 rushing yards, 2 TDs) and WR Anthony Vaglienti (376 receiving yards, 4 TDs) moving the ball consistently. The Braves won this game in a 9-7 slugfest last year but have been in a slump this season. Parker has dropped four straight games largely because of an offense that is averaging just 10.2 ppg. RB Darrell Sawyer III (524 rushing yards, 4 TDs) is the Braves’ top offensive threat. LBs Lashun Mays Jr. and Jeffery Brown both have 57 tackles to lead the defense.

Tocoi Creek (4-1, 0-0) at Palatka (4-0, 0-0), Tuesday*

A big time district clash that will determine frontrunner status in District 6-2S and put them on a collision course with favorite, Bradford. The Panthers are off to their best start since Jim McCool’s final season in 2003 when they were 7-0. Palatka has come together in Patrick Turner’s second season in Putnam County. RBs Saiquan Williams and Tommy Offord have three rushing TDs apiece. QB Jamarrie McKinnon has thrown for seven TDs, four of those to Ty’ran Bush. The Toros’ lone loss is to unbeaten Bishop Kenny. RB Wendell Dean (9 rushing TDs) and QBs Ryan Killmer and Cade Fourman have combined for more than 500 yards passing and four TDs. DE Kendal Hinton has done a bit of everything on defense (23 tackles, 5 TFL, 3 sacks).

Ribault (3-2, 0-0) at (3) Jackson (4-1, 0-0), 6:30 p.m., Tuesday*

The Tigers continue to impress but these are the games that really matter. Jackson hasn’t won a district title since Kevin Sullivan’s final season in 2009 but the Tigers will be halfway there with a victory here. Win this one and the district will be determined with an Oct. 28 game at Raines. Jackson is using a nasty defense (11 ppg allowed) and the big arm of QB King Johnson (944 passing yards, 6 TDs) to overwhelm teams. WR Terrance Holland (420 receiving yards, 3 TDs) is Johnson’s favorite target. LB Grayson Howard (93 tackles, 12 TFL) is closing in on the 100-tackle mark. Jackson has won four straight since a Week 0 loss to unbeaten Brunswick. QB Nick Ross (271 passing yards, 3 TDs), RB Damontrio Glee and WRs Kalvin Gilbert Jr. and Jourdyn Smith-Williams are the playmakers for the Trojans. Ribault’s playoff fate will be sealed this week. They’ve got rival Raines in the Northwest Classic on Saturday.

Next four

Englewood (3-1, 0-0) at First Coast (3-1, 0-0), 6:30 p.m.*: The Buccaneers have won three in a row and look to push themselves to the front of District 1-3M. The Rams have been sneaky good and could put themselves into the mix with a win here.

Flagler Palm Coast (3-2, 0-0) at Ponte Vedra (2-2, 0-0)*: In a wide open District 4-4S, it’s one of these teams (or Nease) who will wind up winning it.

Riverside (2-3) at (8) Raines (3-1), 5 p.m.: Always a good rivalry game and the Vikings have another one on tap Saturday.

Sandalwood (1-3) at Nease (1-4), Tuesday: Bad records aside, both of these teams are still very much in the playoff conversation in their respective districts. A good test for the Saints and Panthers to help prepare for that stretch run.

Monday, Oct. 3 schedule

Bishop Kenny (5-0, 0-0) at Wolfson (2-2, 0-0), 6:30 p.m.*

Bradford (4-0, 0-0) at Keystone Heights (1-3, 0-0), 7:30 p.m.*

Englewood (3-1, 0-0) at First Coast (3-1, 0-0), 6:30 p.m.*

Flagler Palm Coast (3-2, 0-0) at Ponte Vedra (2-2, 0-0)*

Parker (1-4) at Fletcher (3-2), 6 p.m.*

Riverside (2-3) at Raines (3-1), 5 p.m.

St. Augustine (2-3, 1-0) at Matanzas (2-3, 0-0)*

St. Joseph (1-3) at Ocala Trinity Catholic (2-2, 0-0), 5:30 p.m.

Ridgeview (1-4, 0-0) at Middleburg (1-4, 0-0), 6 p.m.*

West Nassau (1-4, 0-0) at Baker County (3-1, 0-1), 6:30 p.m.*

Tuesday’s schedule

Ribault (3-2, 0-0) at Jackson (4-1, 0-0), 6:30 p.m.*

Sandalwood (1-3) at Nease (1-4)

Tocoi Creek (4-1, 0-0) at Palatka (4-0, 0-0)*
