Rank, Previous, School, Record, Classification

1. (1) Providence (17-1, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Episcopal, IMG Academy Blue (twice), Impact Christian, Oakleaf, Orange Park, Nease (twice), Riverside, Sandalwood, Shady Spring (WV), Vanguard.

Glance: A 3-0 week since our last Super 6 but a couple tough games in that stretch. The Stallions beat a very good Impact team 77-70 and got all they wanted from another good club in Orange Park (47-41). Providence then beat Nease handily (51-30). The Stallions have University Christian on Friday to round out the week. They’ve won six straight and have been No. 1 in our Super 6 all season.

2. (2) Oakleaf (17-1, Class 6A)

Notable wins: American, Camden County (Ga), McKeel Academy, Orange Park, Sandalwood (twice), Westside.

Glance: It’s a dozen in a row for the Knights, who dusted Atlantic Coast (67-27), Clay (67-36) and Menendez (59-24) since our last Super 6. The Knights are rolling. It’s difficult to tell how good Oakleaf really is due to its strength of schedule, which ranks 20th out of 26th teams in Region 1-6A. The Knights have a good one against Orange Park on Saturday, which, on paper, looks like its most difficult regular season game left. Then again, they beat the Raiders by 31 earlier this month.

3. (3) North Florida Educational (13-5, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Alexander (Ga.), Blake, DME Academy, Potter’s House, Riverside, San Jose Prep, Tampa Catholic, Pensacola Washington.

Glance: A 1-1 mark since our last check in for the Eagles. They lost to Gainesville The Rock (77-58) and handled a strong 12-3 Washington (76-48). Let’s call this week a wash for NFEI. Not a bad loss and a very good victory.

4. (T6) Bishop Kenny (15-3, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Benedictine (Ga.), Creekside, Holy Cross (Louisiana), Mandarin, Orange Park, Palatka, St. Joseph, Yulee.

Glance: The winning streak hit nine games after a 2-0 week for coach Jerry Buckley and the Crusaders. They beat rival Bolles (65-50) and Cardinal Newman (59-46) handily. They’ve got Stanton (Wednesday) and then a very-good-and-getting-better-by-the-week Episcopal team on Friday.

5. (4) Ribault (15-3, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Bolles, Impact Christian, Jackson, Lake Howell, Mandarin, Orange Park, White.

Glance: The Trojans went 1-1 since our last check in, beating First Coast (62-46) and then losing 69-45 to a strong Suncoast team. Caleb Williams (13.6 ppg), George Woods (9.7 ppg) and Kevin Stokes (9.6 ppg) are leading Ribault. They’ve got a tough one against No. 6 Ponte Vedra on Saturday.

T6. (5) Ponte Vedra (12-5, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Bolles, Creekside, King’s Ridge Christian (Ga), Nease, Paxon, Poinciana, Tocoi Creek.

Glance: The Sharks went 2-1 since our last Super 6, beating Palatka (69-59) and Bartram Trail (49-36). They lost to a strong Suncoast (60-55). There’s a big showdown on Saturday against Ribault. Israel Nuhu (14.4 ppg), Ben Ritchie (12.8 ppg), Sam Ritchie (10 ppg) and Nathan Bunkosky (9.5 ppg) lead Ponte Vedra.

T6. (2) Paxon (15-3, Class 4A)

Notable wins: Beachside, Bishop Kenny, Fletcher, Glynn Academy (Ga), Jackson, Lovejoy (Ga), St. Augustine, Toombs County (Ga), Wolfson.

Glance: Solid week for the Golden Eagles. They ended a two-game losing streak with quality Ws over Jackson (52-43) and Fletcher (64-57). Paxon is back in action on Saturday against Lithia Newsome.
