JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Next stop, the third round of the state playoffs for five area girls high school soccer teams.
Bartram Trail, the wire-to-wire No. 1 team in the News4JAX Super 6, crushed visiting Apopka 7-0 to surge into next week’s Region 1-7A final against rival and defending state champion Creekside. Olivia Bori had a hat trick for the Bears (18-0-1) to set up another collision with Creekside.

The Knights (12-5) outlasted visiting Lake Mary in penalty kicks (4-2) after playing to a 1-all stalemate in regulation. Creekside played without star midfielder Avery Robinson, who was called to play on the U.S. Under-17 Women’s Youth National Team in two matches next week in Burton upon Trent, England.

Creekside stunned then-nationally ranked No. 1 Bartram Trail 3-2 in last year’s second-round game. The two teams met in the district championship game last week, a 4-3 instant classic won by the Bears.
Soccer dynasty St. Johns Country Day stacked another 8-0 playoff win, this time crushing Christ’s Church in Region 1-2A. The Spartans have won 11 consecutive state championships and appear well on their way to another title game appearance.
Bolles had no trouble with visiting Tallahassee Maclay in a 3-0 win in Region 1-3A. And Stanton ended Tocoi Creek’s season in Region 1-4A with a 3-0 win.
The area will have at least one more team moving on. In Region 1-6A, the Fleming Island and Ponte Vedra game was postponed. And in Region 1-5A, Clay will face Arnold on Sunday.
